Affiliates
NorthWesternesse supports the following charities and affiliates. If you would like us to add your organization as a NorthWesternesse affiliate, contact the NorthWesternesse webmaster.
- Journey to Microdor - In 2005, NorthWesternesse produced its very own fan film, Journey to Microdor, directed and produced by Linda J. Teller. Learn more about the journey, the story, and how to order your copy of this fabulous short film (20 minutes).
- LOTR Fanclub Messageboard - Originally part of the site that published the LOTR fan magazines, the Lord of the Rings fanclub has evolved into an independent and thriving community with a bent for creative writing. NorthWesternesse members help to support this online community. Their companion site, the LOTR Fanclub Scrapbook, hosts archived tales, poetry, and LOTR memorabilia.
- Mellyn Annui - The BC LOTR fan group - Located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Mellyn Annui hosts a variety of LOTR and related events, with heavy emphasis on costuming.
- One Small Garden - One Small Garden is a non-profit organization dedicated to the building of gardens for charity using sustainable, earth-friendly, and organic methods and materials. Project Elanor in Beaverton, Oregon was the group's first garden project. The group's current project, Goldilocks, is located in Seattle, WA.
- Page Ahead - Page Ahead provides new books and promotes reading activities for at-risk children to enrich their lives and strengthen communities. NorthWesternesse collected new and used books for Page Ahead at the ROTK Line Party in December 2003. (Read their thank you letter.)
- PAWS - The Progressive Animal Welfare Society - PAWS - offers direct care for injured or orphaned wildlife, and homeless companion animals. PAWS is committed to advocacy and education on behalf of all animals.
- Remembering Balin (Greg) - NorthWesternesse has assembled a gallery of photos dedicated to the memory of Greg (aka Balin). Greg was a staff member for TheOneRing.net and traveled to many LOTR conventions and events around the country, including Barliman's Bash, RingCon, and TolCon in Seattle. Sadly, Greg passed away to the Gray Havens in March 2006. He made many friends here in the Pacific Northwest and is very missed.
- The Seat of Kings - The Seat of Kings is dedicated to providing unique Lord of the Rings content, including The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers transcripts. The former is perhaps the most accurate transcript of its kind, with detailed descriptions and pictures to bring it to life. This site also includes poems from the book, an image gallery containing over 1000 pictures, special fonts, and more.
- TheOneRing.net is the perhaps the most comprehensive source online for all things Tolkien and Lord of the Rings, including daily news updates, a thriving forum, spy reports, and much more.
- Washington State Renaissance Faire - The Washingon State Renaissance Faire is held every August in Gig Harbor, WA with an attendance of 65,000 over three weekends. NorthWesternesse members support the Faire by serving as volunteer staff members.
